Have You been Denied for a Business Loan? Add a Credit Policy to your Business Plan and Get Approved

May 3rd, 2008 by gintebata

By Michelle Dunn If you have been to the bank to get a business loan to start a business or for funding for your existing business you probably approached them with a business plan and possibly a marketing plan or outline. Every business plan has part of if not all of a marketing plan included. If you were denied your loan, part of the problem could be that you didnt explain or elaborate enough on how you were going to pay back the money you want to borrow. Your business plan tells the lender what you are going to do for a business, and the marketing plan tells them how you are going to obtain new clients and make money. Your credit plan or credit policy tells them how you are going to get paid, in order to pay them back. The credit plan will also tell them what you will do if you do make sales and dont get paid. This can put a bankers mind at ease, while showing them that you are serious about your business and about paying them back. Approval of any loan is based on many things, one of the most important being on how you present yourself and your business. A well written business plan is the first step, and will give the lender an overall picture of your business. Make sure you include a credit history or if you have poor credit, get copies of your credit reports and fix any errors and pay off any debts before approaching a lender. You can expedite the processing of your loan by providing the lender with as much relevant information that they need to make a decision right away. If they have to continually contact you for more information, your chances of approval go down. Banks will carefully and particularly look to see if you have a solid understanding of financial record keeping, business credit, the importance of collecting accounts receivables, inventory control and turnover and marketing. If you include a credit policy as well as a marketing plan or marketing plan outline with your business plan you will find that the lender will take you much more seriously and if they had any questions on your understanding of their being paid back will see that you have thought this through and have a plan in place to pay them back their money. That makes every banker happy; remember they make money by lending you money. Remember, when you are trying to get someone to give you money, it is a hard job and the more thorough you are the better your chances. If you approach your lender with a professional looking business plan, that includes a marketing plan and a credit plan, your application will go to the top of the pile. Teaching Children To Pray With Christian Prayers

May 1st, 2008 by gintebata

By Michael Heindel Discussing spiritual matters with young ones can be a trying task. If you have ever attempted it, you know that their insatiable curiosity will lead them to ask many questions which might end up stumping you. So when you are teaching your children to pray, you will have to be very strategic about it. To start with, you should pray with your child on a nightly basis. He or she will be able to learn by example, and in seeing you bring yourself before the Lord, a good example will be set. But this isnt limited to nightly kneeling sessions by the bed. Teaching prayer is something that should happen in your day-to-day life. Whenever even the smallest blessing occurs, point it out to your children and thank God for it. This will establish with the child that for everything precious in the world, God is to be thanked. Be extremely aware of whenever the prayer of your child is answered. It is too easy to pray for something, and then when it happens think something along the lines of wow, that was lucky! If you notice that some prayer of your child has come true, make a huge deal of it and show the child the importance of looking for God in daily life. From the beginning of your childs life, teach him or her to enjoy the creation that God has given us. Point out the sheer natural beauty of the world we live in, and point out how God has given us the gifts to enjoy. Just as you appreciate beauty and miracles through prayer with your children, teach them to use prayer to cope with unpleasant situations. For example, if you pass a car crash, say a quick family prayer. This will teach your child that prayer is multi-faceted, and an outlet for showing gratefulness as well as appealing to Gods good will. Every evening, bless and pray over your children. Use the classic blessing before bedtime: May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace. This will help your children to realize that God is always present and protective. Prayer, like anything taught to a child, is better taught through actions than by trying to explain. Show your child what it is like to pray on a regular basis. Bring prayer up whenever possible, and relate it to the current situation. If you can truly impress the importance and the significance of prayer on your child, you will have accomplished a truly great feat as a parent. Rights and Obligations with Prenuptial Agreement

April 28th, 2008 by gintebata

By Jeffrey Broobin Prenuptial agreements are like insurance policies. You do the paperwork, and then hope you’ll never need it. However, since half of marriages end in divorce within the first seven years, you may want to consider a prenuptial agreement before you walk down the aisle and say, “I do.” Since you could later be engaged in a nasty, costly, and emotionally draining divorce some day, you should consider a prenuptial agreement as a precaution. Below we have given you some information on what is in a prenuptial agreement and whether it could be useful for you. A prenuptial or ante nuptial agreement is a document signed by two people who intend to be married. It describes their rights and obligations should they get divorced. A prenuptial agreement informs the court how they want their assets and property divided up. Divorces become messy when parties cannot agree on the distribution of property, such things as the house, the house, stocks, and bonds and whether one party should pay the other alimony, now known as “maintenance” in most states. Assume that the husband has $1,000,000 in his own name prior to the marriage. A properly drafted prenuptial agreement can award that same $1,000,000 to him after a divorce, notwithstanding what he does with the money, such as purchasing a home in joint tenancy or shifting the money into other accounts. Without a prenuptial agreement, the wife might be entitled to one-half of the $1,000,000 or more, depending on the financial circumstances of the parties at the time of the divorce. The prenuptial agreement is a powerful and valuable tool that can favor the husband, protect the wife, or serve both of them fairly. It is a question of circumstances and intentions. Candidates for prenuptial agreements used to be just older individuals with huge estates that they wanted to protect from gold diggers for their children from previous marriages. Since more millionaires are born every day, the candidate pool is growing by leaps and bounds. Now everybody has something to protect: an unpublished author, the budding inventor, anybody with a lucrative profession or a good idea. So, before you dismiss the idea of a prenuptial agreement, assess your situation in life and your long-term future in deciding whether a prenuptial agreement is right for you. Consider at length the nature and extent of your present and possible future assets. A prenuptial agreement can be a very simple document running only a few pages that segregates each party’s assets owned before the marriage, or it can be a very complicated document that runs dozens of pages because it deals with income and assets acquired during the marriage, the payment of debts, attorneys’ fees, alimony/maintenance, and other financial matters. The next hurdle is raising the issue with your intended spouse, a very unromantic event. It helps to get it over with early. Perhaps you could blame it on someone else, such as your parents who may want to involve you in a family business, or possible business partners. If you have no one to hold responsible, just be honest. Tell your future spouse that you intend to be open, fair, and honest, and the fact that you will be revealing all your assets is a sign of trust. Assure your intended that he or she will be protected during the negotiation procedure and in the prenuptial agreement, and stress that the document is something you feel is necessary and wise before you get married. The most important thing is to discuss it earlier instead of later, so that the degree of pressure before the wedding is mitigated. Couples do not usually break engagements because of disputes over prenuptial agreements. In almost every instance, the agreement is signed and the parties are married. It is also completely appropriate to state that you will not get married without a prenuptial agreement; case law has indicated that this will not invalidate an agreement if made before the wedding. The best way to avoid charges of duress or coercion is to tell your future spouse early on that you want the prenuptial agreement. Sometimes, such documents are signed shortly before the wedding, but have been the subject of negotiation for months. A well-drafted agreement will recite the fact that, even though it was signed shortly before or on the wedding date, negotiations began much earlier. It is for clauses like this that you consult experts. Eventually, a prenuptial agreement will be fashioned so that you and your future spouse both accept it. The terms may not be what you initially envisioned and may not be what your intended would want. But that is the nature of compromise. What’s The Shelf Life Of Your Marketing?

April 26th, 2008 by gintebata

By Charlie Cook Your marketing information is perishable like a loaf of bread. Leave it on the shelf for longer than 7-10 days and it’s stale as far as the majority of your prospects are concerned. I was talking with David, a client from Arizona who owns four physical therapy clinics in the Tucson area. I asked him how business has been since we talked two weeks ago. He said three of his clinics were booked solid but the fourth was suffering from a lack of clients. When I asked him what he thought was the problem, he acknowledged that his sales representatives for that clinic hadn’t been in touch recently with the doctors who refer patients to them. In contrast, the pharmaceutical companies have three reps assigned to visit each of the same doctors’ offices every week. Even though doctors in the area had used Davids firm’s services in the past, and their patients have a continuing need for these services, without recent contact the doctors had started referring their patients elsewhere. As David had quickly learned, just because someone knows about your services doesn’t mean they will remember you when they are ready to make a referral or a purchase, even if they were a satisfied customer. According to a study by e-consultancy.com, prospects cool quickly, at an estimated rate of 10% per day. In other words the shelf life of your marketing on average is about the same as a loaf of bread, 7-10 days. Grocery store managers know that people won’t buy stale produce or moldy bread, so they continually replace their stock. The same thing happens in marketing. Your prospects will lose track or discard your previous marketing information, even if they need your products and services. To keep your marketing information fresh in their minds, you need to expose them to it on a regular basis. Obviously, your marketing shelf life will vary depending on the type of information you want prospects to retain and the type of communication. When people visit my web site they can fill in a contact form requesting a call. On occasion I get these and respond within 10-15 minutes. The majority of people I talk to remember filling in the form, the content of my site, but can’t remember the URL for the site. If people can’t remember the URL of your web site, even if it provides an essential service they want to pay for, they won’t be able to find your site and buy from you. Estimated Average Shelf Life of Your Marketing: - Visiting your web site to forgetting your web site: 2 minutes - Reading a page or more of your marketing materials to forgetting your products or services: 5 to 7 days - Talking with you to forgetting you; 2 to 3 weeks - Buying from you to forgetting your company; 1 to 3 months It’s not that you don’t provide essential products and services and people dont want them; the problem is that your marketing information regularly gets buried in your prospects minds. We have the same struggle with my teenage son. Much as wed like him to sort his laundry and put clothes neatly away in his bureau, gravity takes over and the clothes end up on the floor. He sees and wears the clothes at the top of the pile. In short order, he’s run out of shorts. Where are they? Buried at the bottom of the pile. If a prospect has just been to your website, read your marketing materials, talked with you or made a purchase from you, your information is at the top of the pile in their mind. Each day that goes by they take in more information that gets added to the top of the pile, and your marketing information gets pushed further and further down until they no longer remember it. How can you avoid having your marketing go stale in prospects’ minds or get buried by all the other information they process? 1. If you have a web site, focus on getting prospects to give you their contact information so you have a means of getting in touch with them. 3. Whether it is by email, snail mail, over the phone or in print, stay in touch with your prospects so they dont forget you. 3. Track your contacts with your prospects so you know how frequently you’ve approached them and by what means, and keep your objectives clearly in mind. 4. When a prospect becomes a client or a customer, don’t assume that they’ll remember to come back for the next purchase. Follow up immediately and tempt them with a special offer. This tactic alone can boost your sales by 30 to 40%. It’s hard to believe, but most of the people who need and want your products and services will forget you after they’ve read your marketing materials. Don’t let your marketing shelf life expire and get discarded by your prospects. Develop and implement a system for contacting your prospects so they remember you. You’ll get permanent shelf space in their minds and youll get their business. 2005 In Mind Communications, LLC. Create an Instant Change in the Atmosphere of Your Home

April 22nd, 2008 by gintebata

By Peter Mason Have you ever visited a friends home, and the house was so comfortable that you enjoyed it as much as you did the friends? At first you couldnt figure out just what it was that made the place so cozy maybe the furniture, the environment overall, hmmm what was it? Well theres a good chance that it was the shades. Never thought of that right? Shades are capable of drastically changing the feel of a room and in fact the entire home. They can even change the way you feel when youre in the home. Now before you reach back into your memory and in disgust think of those old vinyl things that your grandmother had, well snap out of it. Theyve come a long way my friend from the hard, flat vinyl rectangles or thin paper that you used to enjoy pulling as a kid, to watch as they would snap up around a little wooden tube. There are now a broad range of modern window dressings that lift and lower by a spring mechanism or by a system of drawstrings and cords. As well, these days youve got a variety of styles and fabrics to choose from. To choose the right shades when youre doing your interior decorating, you first need to know your purpose with them. Do you simply just want to control the light that comes in and out of your home? Certainly, a prime reason of a shade is to block the light. Whether you want to block the light from the outside coming in, or light from inside going out, shades work brilliantly. Privacy is a major reason why people use shades, as well as curtains and certain blinds, such as vertical blinds. Many people like to open their shades throughout the day for daylight, and close them tightly for privacy at night. Not only are they great for the aspect of visual privacy, but also believe it or not theyre great for blocking noise from outside. Some shade materials can provide insulation for your home. A problem with single pane windows and older windows is that with cracks around the sill or frame they allow outside air in. A number of materials will block this air and help keep the room temperature exactly where you want it. Probably the main reason that people make their choice of shade is for interior design and decoration purposes. This creates and maintains a particular atmosphere of the room. Choosing certain colors, distinct fabrics and style all have great decorative effect in creating the mood of the room. As you use the shades in combination with other types of window treatments such as curtains, vertical blinds, and drapes - youll get to understand just how much fun you can have while decorating your windows. George Davidsberg usually produces publications on subjects corresponding to vertical blinds and interior decorating. His articles on interior decorating and shades can be found on his web publications . Fun Veterans Day Trivia Facts and Party Tips

April 20th, 2008 by gintebata

By Gail Leino Once known as Armistice Day the modern celebration of Veterans Day has its origins in the end of World War I. Rather than a commemoration of war this mid-November legal holiday is intended to coincide with the historic resumption of peace among nations. Naturally those who did not return from the battle front are the focus of much of the interest but living veterans are honored as well. Too many people gloss over this day because of it’s overshadowing by major celebrations on the fall calendar. For those who do plan remembrance events there are many tried and true decorating motifs. Although Veterans Day is a somber occasion it is one that can be accompanied by buffets of favorite foods and after parade fare. A lot of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) posts consider this to be the high point of their activities for the year. Similarly, Veterans Administration (VA) hospitals and homes place a lot of significance on this observation. Anyone visiting someone in one of these facilities can count on an occasion of much importance. However, municipalities that commemorate Veterans Day with a parade will probably have a more jubilant take on the traditions of the day. Groups of uniform clad veterans will share the lime light with loud siren blaring fire trucks or large groups of clown in small cars. There isn’t much difference between this parade and the ones that follow Thanksgiving Day to kick off the Christmas shopping season. Home commemorations can be respectful without being too depressing. The U.S. flag is the source of the color scheme but foods and other details can be of individual preferences. Whatever choices are made for these lunches and dinners the obvious choice for practical get-togethers on Veterans Day is to use paper party goods. Easy clean-ups rule! Online Master’s Degrees: Pummeling the Traditional Competition

April 19th, 2008 by gintebata

By Amber C. Smith Online Masters degrees are the perfect alternative to traditional Masters Degrees. Unlike the traditional degrees, online degrees never force you to spend your week nights or weekends sitting in class. Instead you can spend your off time working on your class and still spend quality time with family and friends. On Your Schedule For once, you can have school on your own schedule. You can determine when to work on your projects or when to take care of class responsibilities based on your life instead of on an arbitrary school schedule. Plus, online classes only last about six weeks at most universities, so if you need a break, you can easily take one. School From Home As expensive as gas is right now, not having to drive back and forth to school is a tremendous advantage. If you already have a daily commute, you won’t have to add to it by driving back and forth to class. By taking online classes, you can even do your work on Saturday morning in your pajamas! Work Full Time Balancing school with a full time job can be extremely difficult. Online classes make the process much easier. If you talk to your boss, you might even be allowed to work on your assignments at work if they are related to your current job - talk about multitasking! Get A Free Degree Many companies are more likely to pay for your degree if you take classes online. Sometimes employers can actually work out a bargain with online universities so that their employees get lower tuition rates and other discounts. Your employer will definitely love paying for your degree if they get a discount. Returning Students After teaching several college courses, I’ve learned a lot about the fear that plagues returning students, especially if they’re coming back for a Masters degree. They feel so out of the loop that I’ve even seen them be intimidated by students much younger with much less experience. By taking online classes the age difference is masked, at least for a while, returning students can have time to overcome their fears. Boot Camps For Troubled Teens

April 16th, 2008 by gintebata

By Eddie Tobey A boot camp does not have any specific meaning or definition. The phrase boot camp can refer to a very strict and highly structured facility to which parents would send their children who are highly defiant and out of control. Boot camps are generally for troubled teens who are not only unruly, but are also juveniles facing minor legal problems. As such, these boot camps were started by the juvenile justice system and are considered as alternatives to juvenile and youth authority camps. Boot camps for troubled teens normally last for a period of 21 days to 3 months. The demand for boot camps has grown tremendously in the past few years as they claim to treat teens with behavioral, emotional and psychological problems. Boot camps have military-style facilities in order to transform a troubled teen into someone better behaved who follows rules. Thus, these camps have strict military discipline, fear of authority and rigorous physical training for children with different types of military exercises. Juveniles admitted to these camps are often very aggressive and do not listen to anybody, including their parents. At such times, it is advisable for parents to put them for boot camps during summer months as these camps are mainly designed to achieve compliance, control and obedience to authority. There are various tools such as physical hardship, as well as emotional and psychological trauma used in these camps, so as to break the opposition and defiance of the teens by keeping them under a certain pressure. Boot camps also include a number of psychological and corporal punishments such as threats, verbal abuse, intimidation, isolation, deprivation, loss of privileges, exhausting exercises and so on. These punishments may be regarded as harsh but they help to create quick changes in the outward behavior of troubled teens. Most boot camps are state funded for teens who are already a part of the juvenile system. Though majority of the teens may often show tremendous signs of improvement for a few days or weeks after coming home from these camps, it is observed that most of them go back to their old behavior as the fear of authority is temporary and disappears after a certain point of time. Boot Camps provides detailed information on boot camps, navy boot camps, marine boot camps, army boot camps and more. Boot Camps is affiliated with Troubled Teens Programs. NPI Number - Who Is Required to Have Them by May 23, 2007

April 14th, 2008 by gintebata

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Michele_Redmond] Michele Redmond Many people believe that the NPI number was initiated by the HIPAA Act of 1996. Actually, the NPI number was initiated by CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) in July of 1993. CMS wanted a national identification system for all healthcare providers and many of the existing identifiers did not meet the standards for national standards. The HIPAA Act of 1996 required the adoption and use of a standard unique identifier for healthcare providers. All covered healthcare providers will be required to have an NPI number by May 23, 2007. The National Provider Identifier, or NPI, is a 10 position, all numeric, identification number assigned by the NPS to uniquely identify a healthcare provider. If you are an individual healthcare provider you will need to apply for an NPI number under your individual name. If you belong to a medical group, you will need an NPI number for the group and an NPI number for each individual healthcare provider in the group. Medical Billing Services are not eligible for NPI numbers because they are not a covered healthcare provider. A covered healthcare provider is any provider who transmits any health information in electronic form. NPI numbers will replace the healthcare providers Medicare provider number, Medicaid provider number, Champus provider number, UPIN number, and all other payors unique provider numbers (such as Blue Cross Blue Shield). NPI numbers will not replace tax id number or social security number, DEA number, taxonomy number, or license number. Once an NPI number is assigned to a covered healthcare provider it will not change. NPI numbers will travel with a healthcare provider if they move from one geographical location to another. NPI numbers can be deactivated if the healthcare provider is deceased or goes out of business. NPI numbers will not be reissued to a different healthcare provider once they have been deactivated. Covered healthcare providers can apply for their NPI number from now until May 23, 2007. Applications began being accepted in May of 2005. I strongly recommend that you apply immediately. There is no reason to put it off. The closer it gets to the deadline, the busier the application process will become. Any changes in information need to be reported to NPPES within 30 days of the change. NPI numbers can be obtained by completing an online application which takes about 20 minutes. Michele Redmond is co-owner of Solutions Medical Billing with her mother, Alice Scott. Together they are responsible for the billing needs of over 50 covered healthcare providers. They assist providers with obtaining NPI numbers, as well as other credentialling tasks. Big “Buts” Sabotage Weight Loss, Health and Fitness(Part 5 0f 12)

April 11th, 2008 by gintebata

By Dr. Leslie Van Romer Yeah, But I Already Eat Balanced Meals You may think that there is no need to eat differently because you are careful to eat balanced mealsmost of the timejust the way your mother taught you to eat. If you are like most of us, balanced means a variety of foods selected from the traditional Four Food Groups: meat, dairy products, refined grains and cereals, fruits, and vegetables. A balanced breakfast is cereal, milk, toast, butter, and coffee or bacon and eggs. Lunch is a ham and cheese sandwich on brown-colored white bread, and maybe an apple. Dinner is chicken, fish, or beef, potatoes, a half a cup of vegetables and sometimes a small salad. A little mid-afternoon snack: pop and chips or a tiny piece of chocolate. And, dessert, in moderation of course, is a few cookies and/or ice cream. A diet centered on meat, dairy products, white flour, white sugar, and refined cereals is not balanced. Quite the contrary, these are the very culprits that cause most of the ailments plaguing our country today. Think logically. What are the very best foods to put in your body? No matter how many differing opinions there are about food, there is no argument that fruits and vegetables are the most health-promoting and disease-preventing foods. Therefore, doesnt it make sense that it would be to your bodys advantage to fill up on the best-for-you foodsfruits and vegetables? Are you serious about balanced meals? Try lots of fresh fruit for breakfast, a very large, green-leafy, vegetable salad for lunch, and a vegetable salad and a variety of vegetables for dinner. And snacks: fruit and raw, unsalted nuts. Once you fill up on the good-for-you-foods, if you are still hungry, really hungry, then eat the other foods you were raised to love. Now that is more balanced.
